Steve Robinson, Ph.D. - President

Steve is married to Rhonda Robinson, who serves as an Academic Technology Specialist at Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, GA. Together they have three children: Heather Robinson, a middle-school science teacher and administrator at the Independent Day School in Tampa, Florida, but is currently teaching AP Science in Bejing, China; Garrett Johnson, a professional baseball player with the Rockland Boulders ; and MacKenzie Robinson, a junior enrolled in the Dozier School of Performing Arts at Mount Paran Christian School.   Read his complete bio here.  Click here for information regarding Steve's presentations and publications.      Steve Robinson Picture

Lori Spear, CAE - Executive Vice President

Lori received a B.A. from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, in 1995. After moving to Atlanta in 1997, she spent six years working with the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE) before coming to SAIS in August 2003. Lori is an active member of GSAE, having served as Chair of the GSAE Board of Directors in 2009.  She earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in June 2006.  She is also an advocate of historic preservation, and has served on the board of Rhodes Hall, a historic home in midtown Atlanta, as well as the board of the DeKalb League of Women Voters.  Recently Lori has volunteered as a big sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters and also as a mentor for Year Up Atlanta.            

Damian Kavanagh - Vice President, Accreditation & Membership

Damian received both a B.A. and M.A. in Latin Literature from the University of Georgia – go dawgs. After 15 years at The Westminster Schools of Atlanta teaching, coaching, running a variety of profit center programs, and serving in administrative capacities, he served as Head of School at Cambridge Academy in South Carolina. He was a founding board member of the Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association (GLOA) where he was both treasurer and president. He has the distinction of having been named both a Georgia lacrosse coach of the year and a Georgia lacrosse official of the year – but not in the same year. He is a regular volunteer reader in numerous classrooms in the Atlanta area, a barbecue enthusiast, and an ice cream fanatic.     

Emily Goldman - Accreditation Coordinator

Emily Goldman has worked for SAIS for three years in accreditation. Her current role is Accreditation Coordinator which includes assisting schools with upcoming SAIS accreditation and team assignment. Prior to joining SAIS, Emily was Director of Training and Development for Suntory Water Group and Senior Trainer for Harland CHeck Printers. She is also an active parent volunteer in the independent schools her children attend in Atlanta. Emily also works with a number of volunteer organizations, the database administrator for Troop 266 in Dunwoody, Ga, liaison to North Fulton Community Charities for National Charity League, Booster Club Board Member, ALTA tennis and St. Jude Catholic Church. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia.     

LeeAnne Minnick - Member Services & Database Manager

LeeAnne joined the SAIS staff in May 2008.  She graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens with a B.A. in Anthropology and a certificate in Environmental Ethics in December 2004.  She worked as a Research & Database Manager for Coastwise Consulting before coming to SAIS.  She volunteers for Hands on Northeast Georgia and the Athens Sandy Creek Nature Center, among other places.            

Gloria Mountain - Administrative Assistant

Gloria joined the SAIS team in August 2010 as Administrative Assistant. Formerly, she worked for an SAIS school as the Registrar’s Assistant for over three years. Gloria resides with her husband and two sons, and she enjoys traveling with her family and attending theater productions, music concerts, ballet, and other performing arts shows.      

Angela Warner - Communications Manager

As the Communications Manager, Angela works to inform member schools about the value of SAIS membership and involvement. Before joining SAIS in 2011, she worked in charities and nonprofits as a communications and fundraising specialist. A native of Florida, Angela attended college in Boston before settling in Atlanta, where she knits and volunteers as an adult literacy mentor.     

Emily Glass - Events Manager

Emily Glass joined the SAIS team in October 2011.  She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2005 with a B.A. in Journalism and a concentration in Sociology. Emily has worked in international association management throughout her professional career, before leaving her home state of Kentucky to work for a state association in Georgia. Enjoying the benefits of Georgia's warm climate, you can find Emily outdoors hiking, boating, canoeing, or volunteering at the local animal shelters in her spare time.  

 


Julia Grantham - Director of Administration

 Julia Grantham joined the SAIS staff in January 2012.  In her role as Director of Administration, Julia is responsible for accounting, human resources, and office services. She holds bachelor’s degrees in both Accounting (Mercer University Atlanta) and Business Administration (University of Georgia). Julia and her husband live in Alpharetta, Georgia with their two daughters, and in her spare time, Julia enjoys playing on several tennis teams and cheering her Braves and Falcons to victory.
