Each state in the SAIS region has its own requirements and regulations that pertain to independent schools. We encourage you to be in contact with your state Department of Education or your state independent school association for questions of state compliance. SAIS accreditation calls for schools to meet all applicable state laws. We offer the following list of state departments of education as a starting point for your research. Note that the links these pages point to are sporadically updated by the US Office of Innocation and Improvement and state laws may have changed - SAIS cannot verify the information.
